Obituary of Charles Richard Canavan

Age 78 of Lakelands. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Chuck on Saturday, June 25, 2022 in the Halifax Infirmary Site, QEII, Halifax. Born in Windsor on September 19, 1943, he was a son of the late James and M. Myrtle (Lantz) Canavan.
Chuck was an auto mechanic all his life, retiring at age 69. He enjoyed working on his vegetable garden in the summer, tinkering on old cars and tractors and taking short trips around Nova Scotia with his wife.
Chuck is survived by his wife of 53 years, Joyce; son, Craig (Jen); grandchildren, Randi (Ben), Austin, Dante (Joyce), Maddie (Stephen); great-grandchildren, Lily, Kato, Jeremiah and Harden; sisters, Joyce (Mosytn), Dianne; brothers, Robert (Karen), Lloyd (Leola) and Mark and many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by brother, Kenneth.
Arrangements have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., Windsor (902-798-8317). A graveside service celebrating Chuck’s life will be held on Friday, July 8, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. in South Rawdon Baptist Church Cemetery, 22 Cross Rd. No. 3, South Rawdon, Rev. Garnet Parker officiating (mask are encouraged).
