Members of the Saint John General Hospital School for Nurses Alumnae wish to express our condolences to you, the family of our friend and fellow graduate, Lorraine (McKay) McIntyre. Lorraine has lived a very full life and will certainly be missed by all of you plus her friends and everyone who has had the privilege of knowing her. We will keep you in our thoughts and prayers.
As is our practice, we are making a donation to our SJGH School for Nurses Alumnae Scholarship Fund in memory of Lorraine. Our scholarships are awarded annually to deserving UNB Saint John nursing students who excel in Geriatric Nursing.

My condolences to you both, and to your families, Jennifer and Jill. Your mom was such a wonderful and caring lady, and I so loved receiving her Christmas card every year. It was always a beautiful card, and she always wrote a loving note. She was the best aunt to Jamie, and he talks about her regularly. I'm so glad we all have such wonderful memories of her.

My deepest condolences to Jill, Peter and Jennifer and family. I have fond memories of Lorraine both in the early years and the later years. My daughter Angela used to love to go up to her house and visit her and her dog Ben ( I think that was his name). It doesn’t matter how old we are it is so hard to lose our biggest fan.

My heart is broken right now hearing of Lorraine’s (mom) I called her ,passing ..I loved coming to Jennifer’s every 2nd week to clean ..she was always there when I came in to greet me and we would talk about everything..I just loved her ..I never could remember her name so I just started calling her mom..she was the most sweetest person you’d ever

Dear Jill, Jennifer and Peter,
I have such fond memories of when our two moms would get together and share a good chat. Their laughter was contagious and to hear them recount numerous outings (Bangor will never be the same!) and the antics that ensued, left the listener wishing they had been a part of it all.

Dear McIntyre family,
I saw in today's Saint John paper of the death of your Mom. It brought back many memories for me. I am quite sure I was John and Lorraine's first baby sitter...first on Douglas Ave. and then on Bentley St. and it was truly a joy for me as a teen.(John always made sure I got home safely in the late hours) I have met Lorraine over the years from time to time and on occasion at St. Joachim's Church. Dearest Jennifer, Ed, Brett and Nicholas , and all of Lorraine’s family ;
Your sweet Mother and Grandmother was one of the reasons I loved Fall River. Her kindness, compassion and constant support was found and accepted merrily by more than one generation of my family . Lorraine had a kind word, a positive swing on all matters, and always a spiritedly wonderful sense of humour and outlook. Running into her was always a pleasure, and she always took time to stop and chat, sharing kind words and great compassion. ( Even whilst she was in the midst of her laps of the neighbourhood! ) .
Your loss being so very immense, please know; my life and my parents’ lives have certainly been enriched by having been fortunate enough to have known such an extraordinary person.
She will be missed beyond measure , by so very many .
