Obituary of Patricia Rose Siler
Age 78, of Windsor, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 9, 2023 in Valley Regional Hospital. Born on January 9, 1945, she was a daughter of the late William Alfred and Doris Harriett (Spicer) Shay.
Patsy had many jobs throughout her life, in her younger years, she worked as a PCW at the Windsor Elms and later in life she worked in the laundry service business in Windsor for many years until her retirement. She had a special love for cats and would often adopt and take care of stray cats in the neighborhood. She loved to knit and crochet and over the years created many beautiful creations which she gifted to family and friends. Patsy enjoyed reading and had a love for royal history. She had a special bond with her sister, Carol and they shared lots of laughter, stories and many shopping trips together over the years.
Patsy is survived by her daughters, Kim (Bill), Mt. Denson; Pam (Medora), Dartmouth; son, Richard Fletcher (Amanda), Falmouth; grandchildren, Ally (Jamie) and Tristan, Brandon (Katie), Chass (Chantz) and Allanah (Robert); great-grandchildren, Ember, Noah and Elliot; sister, Carol Caldwell.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her infant son, Carl; sisters, Marguerite Young, Connie Stephens, Claire Rick and Nancy Mosher; brothers, Alfred "Chum", Douglas and William "Billy" Shay.
The family would like to say thank you to Dr. Watson and to the Valley Regional Hospital Doctors and Nurses for their care, CBI Home Care and VON for their excellent care over the past year. Also, a very special thank you to Patsy’s dear friend, Sharon Johnson for all her care and visits.
Arrangements have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., PO Box 981, Windsor, NS B0N 2T0 (902-798-8317). A private gathering will be held in the DeMont Family Funeral Home’s Elmcroft Reception Centre, masks are required at family request. A private graveside service will be held at a later date in Maplewood Cemetery, Windsor.
