Obituary of Carole Jean Bezanson

Please share a memory of Carole to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Age 79, of Garlands Crossing, passed away peacefully Thursday, February 9, 2023 in Hants Community Hospital, Windsor. Born in Windsor on December 23, 1943 she was a daughter of the late Basil C. and Lillian I. (Barker) Dunn. At just nine months old Carole’s father was killed in action in Italy and she was raised by her mom and step-father, the late Walter E. “Wad” Phillips.

Carole was stricken with a debilitating disease at a young age but despite that she was able to accomplish anything she put her mind to including raising her family and volunteering at the children’s school when they were younger. She loved her husband and family immensely. Their grandchildren and great-grandchildren always put a smile on her face and brightened her day. Carole loved gardening, birds, baking, music and spending time crocheting.

She is survived by her husband, Terrell “Terry”; son, Jeff (Carolyn), Hantsport; daughter, Laura (Pieter) Rondhuis, Almonte, Ont.; grandchildren, Nicholas, Alan, Melyssa, Amber, Aly, Emily and Hannah; great-grandchildren, Aurora, Donavan, Sophia, Jace, Ava and Millie; brothers, Ronnie (Patti) Phillips, Windsor; Wayne “Dub” (Chrissy) Phillips, Brooklyn; Terry (Kathy) Phillips, Garlands Crossing.

Besides her parents and step-father, Carole was predeceased by her brothers, John Barker and Jim Phillips; sister, Kim (Phillips) Garden.

The family would like to say a special thank you to Dr. Cathryn Smith, the staff of Dykeland Lodge and the staff of Unit 200 at Hants Community Hospital for the wonderful care given to Carole.
