Obituary of Barbara Elizabeth Frank

Please share a memory of Barbara to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

It is with heavy hearts that we the family announce the peaceful passing of our beloved mother and nanny, Barb, surrounded by her family, at home on Monday, April 17, 2023 at the age of 85. Born in Parrsboro, she was a daughter of the late Clarence “Dub” and Evelyn (Hatfield) Brothers.

Barb was a number one fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs and Blue Jays, catching every game she was able to on TV. She was a past Treasurer of the Seniors Games and the Gliders Club. She spent many hours volunteering, including time at Dykeland Lodge. She was recognized for the many hours, receiving the Nova Scotia Provincial Volunteer of the year award in 1996. Barb was an avid quilter and knitter. She loved to play a good game of 45’s and scrabble and she also liked to bowl.

She is survived by her children, Steven (Annette), Shawn (Mary Jo) and Pamela (Geoffrey) Christopherson, all of Falmouth; grandchildren, Amy (Josh) Schofield, Jennifer Morris (Craig Brewer), Melissa Morris, Andrew Christopherson, Adam (Annie) Frank, Mark (Katy) Frank, David (Zoe) Christopherson, Julia (Garrett) Perkins, Matthew and Olivia Frank; great-grandchildren, Cohen, Layla, Jackson, Baylee, Clara, Stella, Gunnar, Juliana, Zephyr, Ruby and Amelia; sisters, Charlene Foley, Falmouth and Heather (Jim) Greeno, Windsor; sister’s-in-law, Wendy and Faye Brothers; several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, Barb was predeceased by her husband, Gordon; brothers, Frank, Ronald and Lorne Brothers; sister, Valerie Royce.

The family would like to thank Amy, Zoe, Sue-Ellen and Mary Jo for their kind, loving care. Also, Amber Phillips, the Palliative Care Team, the VON as well as mom’s family doctor Dr. Nick Williams for their care and support over the last few weeks.
