Obituary of Lucille Mary McDow
Age 82 of Hantsport, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 21, 2023 in Dykeland Lodge, Windsor. Born in Windsor, she was the daughter of the late Maurice and Mary (Mosher) Dearman.
Lucille worked as a mail carrier for Canada Post for several years. She was passionate about the game of Bingo and enjoyed many organized bus trips. Lucille also delighted in Country Music Jams and dining out at restaurants. She enthusiastically collected dolphin figurines.
She is survived by her sons, Fred (Beth), Kevin and Murray (Marylou); daughter, Mary Anne Martin (Ken); grandchildren, Lindsay, Jed, Nicole, Amy and Margo; along with several great-grandchildren; brothers, Maurice (Fern), Gordon (Marilyn), Owen (Debbie), Peter (Laura) and Frank (Kim) Dearman; sisters, Margaret (Victor) Swinamer, Clara Leary and Marion Gourley; sisters-in-law, Ruth and Marilyn Dearman; numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Lucille was predeceased by two sisters in infancy; brothers, Wayne and John Dearman; brothers-in-law, Reid Leary and Ray Gourley and granddaughter, Hayley.
Arrangements for cremation have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., PO Box 981, Windsor, NS B0N 2T0 (902-798-8317). A graveside service will be held on Friday, April 28, 2023 at 11:30 a.m., in Maplewood Cemetery, 1186 King St., Windsor, Rev. Bill Gibson officiating. A reception will follow in the funeral home’s Elmcroft Reception Centre, 419 Albert St., Windsor. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Lucille may be made to Hantsport and Area Community Food Bank, PO Box 728, Hantsport, NS B0P 1P0 or a charity of one’s choice.
