Obituary of Lynn Darlene Jessop

It is with heavy hearts that we the family, announce the sudden passing of Lynn, after a short but courageous battle with cancer, on Wednesday, May 17, 2023, at the age of 63, at home in Martock. Born on September 30, 1959, she grew up in Mount Uniacke and was a daughter of the late Roy Maynard and Joan Elsie (Bawdick) Swinamer.

Lynn graduated from the PCW course in 1999. From there she pursued her career working at Dykeland Lodge, Windsor Elms and Hants Community Hospital. After years of working, she continued her passion of care by looking after her own family. Her children and grandchildren meant everything to her. Not a day went by where she didn’t call to ask how they were and to make sure they didn’t need anything. She also enjoyed her visits and time spent drinking Tim’s coffee with her good friend, Bonnie Caldwell.

She is survived by husband, Mark, who took great care of her until the very end; daughter, Holly Swinamer (Darrell); sons, Byron (Courtney) and Collin (Erin); grandchildren, Landyn, Claire, Leo, Erika (Sean) and Marcus; sisters, Ann (Fred) Pickrem, Maxine (John) McLeod, Louise (Ron) Nicholson and Sally (Joe) Majcan; brothers, Terry (Heather) and David (Linda) Swinamer; half-brother, Robert (Jean) Chambers; sister-in-law, Tammy Jessop (Wayne); goddaughter, Tiffany Faulkner; as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family.

Besides her parents, Lynn was predeceased by brothers, Brian, Dana and Paul; parents-in-law, Leo and Sharon Jessop; special Nana, Edna Porter and nephew, Travis Swinamer.

We would like to extend our thanks to neighbour, Elaine Lake for her daily check-ins and Sharon Ford for all her help.

Arrangements for cremation have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., Windsor (902-798-8317).
