It is with sadness that we, the family, announce that Judy passed away suddenly on Friday, August 18, 2023 in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville, after a brief illness, at the age of 73. Born in Windsor, she was a daughter of the late Ernest and Bessie (Walsh) Pitts.

Judy loved baking and going to music jams as well as visiting her friends at Tim Hortons. She was employed at CKF Inc., retiring after 35 years of service.

She is survived by her son, Edward MacDonald (Jen Davison); daughter, Melissa Benjamin; step-son, Gary (Michelle) Underwood; grandchildren, Brandon MacDonald (Andrew), Kitara and Caelum Benjamin; great-grandchildren, Wyatt and Hope; sisters, Audrey Faulkner, Mary (John) Faulkner and Noreen (Norman) Murphy; brother, Gary (Marion) Pitts; many nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her common law husband of 32 years, Garnet Underwood; sisters, Florence, Bessie “Betty”, Phyllis and Faye; brothers, James, Richard, Lawrence and Robert.

The family would like to say a special thank you to niece, Shelly, who’s help was simply invaluable.

Arrangements have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., Windsor (902-798-8317). A private family graveside service will be held in Riverbank Cemetery, Hantsport. A Celebration of Life and Jam will be held in the Three Mile Plains Community Hall, 4474 Hwy. 1, Three Mile Plains, at a date and time to be announced in the near future. In lieu of flowers, Judy would like donations in her memory made to the IWK - Cleft Palate Clinic, 5855 Spring Garden Road, Suite B220, Halifax, NS B3H 4S2 or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia, 5657 Spring Garden Rd., Box 245, Halifax, NS B3J 3R4.
