Obituary of Shirley Cecilia Despres

It is with great sadness but gratitude for a life well lived that we announce the passing of Shirley, age 87, of Ellershouse, on Friday, February 23, 2024 in Hants Community Hospital, Windsor. Born in Halifax, she was a daughter of the late Simon and Selina (Chaisson) Dupres.

Shirley grew up in Tufts Cove and attended St. Paul’s School. Memories of her will live on in our hearts to ease our personal sense of loss and trust in her belief that she has been reunited with loved ones in her eternal home.

She leaves behind her children, Michael (Laurinda) Tufts, Gregory Tufts, Kenneth (Lauren) Tufts and Helen Tufts; many loved grandchildren and great grandchildren; sister, Sandra (Harry); brother, Raymond.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her first husband, Leo Tufts; second husband, John Banfield; brother, Arthur and sister, Lorraine Dupres.  

Arrangements for cremation have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., Windsor (902-798-8317).
