Dorothy was my first cousin, big sister, friend and confidant. I will always remember our phone calls talking about home, pets, flowers and even politics.
Our calls always ended with us saying I love you and Dorothy would add "say hello to the boss".
In earlier years, Dorothy would cut articles out of the paper about home and send them to me - I still have them. She was a great listener, offering advice only when asked. I so admired her outlook on life, never complaining.
She was Mother Theresa to me and I will never forget her love for me.
Rest in peace dear Dorothy.
Elaine

I was so sorry to her of Dorothy's passing. There are so few of the Dorman cousins who are still with us. In October 2021 my mother one of those aptly named Dorman girls who were named aptlyr after my great .Aunt Eleanor(call her Queenie if you dare). My late sister Elizabeth who always favoured my Dad's side approached Dorothy first and Dorothy said that she was sorry but she could not rememeber my sister. I came in the room and she almost lept out of her chair , she said said that one is a Dorman and I would know her anywhere! My mother only lasted six days at the Dykeland because she tripped and broke her hip and the surgery took her life.My Dorothy reunite quickly with your Dad and your brother. God keep her in the palm of his hands.
Take care from another Dorman lookalike

My sincere condolences to Dorothy's family. She was a gem while I worked at the Gladys Manning. Often had great chats about Coronation St and her African Violets she grew which she gifted me a couple that I named Dorothy. Always admired her, a beautiful lady and mother. So glad I had the opportunity to meet her.
