Teresa, Jocelyn and Paige:
We are thinking of you today as we celebrate Vern's life and so sad that he had to leave you so soon. We often think of the good times we shared with you both and how he enjoyed entertaining, especially on those special holidays with all of the seasonal decorations that you both put together. He was a proud husband, father and grandfather and a good friend to many of us. Always so helpful and as Wray would say when he needed a hand, " I will just call Vern". We miss him. Rest in peace, Vern!

To Vernon's wife Theresa daughter and family
Santa has died , but he will forever be alive in our hearts and memories .
I say this because he was made to be Santa.
I met Vernon in grade 8 at WRHS .He was a very nice person with a great sense of humor...how could you not like him ?
Not seeing him for years ...I could not believe it when I finally saw him again .
Long white hair and a beard , he had always been so preppie.
He recognized me first ...that same teasing smile
He said Geraldine Allen ?
I said yes , but who
are you ? Lol
As soon as he smiled I knew ,
He was the greatest Santa
and the greatest person.
I am truly so sorry for your loss. My condolences
Rest easy Santa , you have made so many people, young and old so happy.

I was saddened to hear of Vernon's death. A memory of him visiting me in NB a few years back came up in my Facebook memories in late Sept. I didn't recognize him at first with his beard when he came through my door but it wasn't long that I figured it out! We worked together in Hampton and had the best laughs and fun at parties. He and Sharon were well loved in Hampton and there was never a dull moment when he was around. I loved loved loved working with Vern. I was also unaware of Dennis' passing in 2023. My condolences to Jocelyn and Teresa.

It was very sad to hear of Vern's passing. My condolences to you Teresa and your family. I first met Vern in St. Andrews when I was finishing high school. He was a young constable with a strong sense of community and a great sense of humor. Sharon was one of my class mates and neighbor. It was as a result of guys like Vern that I was drawn to join the RCMP resulting in the career that I enjoyed. On the day of his passing, I was meeting with some troopmates to celebrate our 50th anniversary of our graduation in Regina. Strangely enough, Vern's name came up in conversation. I hope that the void he has left in your lives will be filled with many wonderful memories of him.

Dear Vernon’s Family:
Please accept my most sincere condolences on Vernon’s passing. I had the privilege of having Vernon as a student at Windsor Regional. He was the kindest and warmest person as a young man and he carried those same qualities throughout his life. We met on occasion and it was always a joy to see and talk with him. He had a great sense of humour which was contagious. I’m very sorry for your loss.
Warmest regards,
Dominique Henry.

I have very, very fond memories of Vern Sheehy from his days at Cole Harbour Detachment. Vern would stop by and see us at the Militarily Police Detachment in Shearwater, and a professional relationship became a friendship. My wife and I spent summers at his cottage with him in New London Bay, PEI with him. What an incredible gentleman he was. My heartfelt condolences to his family.

my first posting in H Division was at Tantallon Detachment, one of the first members I worked with was Vern. Of course, when he saw my name tag, he shook his head and asked me, "What kinda of a name is that?" After calling me an immigrant and adding some colourful language, Vern decided he could not pronounce my name properly and said, "It sounds like bag of cabbages"...........I loved it!!!.........to this day, I use Vern's line to help everyone pronounce my name properly..........I loved working with him and will not mention what he called my other co worker, Lise Leveille, but she loved him too, as did our team leaders, Don Williams and Barry Mellish........all of our lives were enriched by knowing and working with Vern and we thank him and all of his loved ones at this time kak

To Vernon’s family, my most sincere condolences. He and I were close friends during the early part of our RCMP lives and were posted together in Chipman in the early 70’s. He was perhaps the most naturally funny guy I had ever met and was never without a smile and a humorous story. The last time I saw Vern, after many years, was in 2015 after each of us had retired. He had not changed at all from the engaging and outgoing friend that he was “way back then”. He will be missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him.

Dear Teresa and family,
Words cannot convey the sympathy I feel over reading of your loss of Vernon.
We enjoyed so many fun times at the Hebrides together and he was a “ force larger than life”! The last time we really had together was when you invited us to your lovely home in N.S. and showed Errol and I the lovely country aside around and a fabulous campfire in your back yard to crown off a wonderful day. Take care and know you are in my thoughts and prayers. Sheridyth MacNeill.
