SHEEHY, Vernon Phillip, Cst.

Age 75, of Mount Denson, passed away, Monday, September 30, 2024 in the Windsor Elms Village, Falmouth, with family by his side. Born on August 19, 1949 in Windsor, he was the son of the late Walter and Bertha (Lantz) Sheehy.

Vernon joined the RCMP on November 30, 1970. He had been posted to many locations in New Brunswick: Florenceville, Plaster Rock, Fredericton, St. Stephens, St. Andrews, Oromocto, Hampton and Chipman. He continued his service in Nova Scotia in Cole Harbour, Halifax Airport and retired from Tantallon on January 5, 1998. He will be remembered most for the joy and smiles be brought everyone as the best Santa Claus in town.

He is survived by second wife, Teresa (Macdonald) Sheehy; daughter, Jocelyn Heather Sheehy (Rick Godin) and granddaughter, Paige Morgan Godin.

Vernon was predeceased by first wife, Sharon (Omar) Sheehy (1984); father, Walter Vernon Sheehy (1957), mother, Bertha (Lantz) (Sheehy) Barker (2010) and son, Dennis Walter Sheehy (2023).

A very special thank you to Scott Anderson from HimCare for his love, compassion and care over the past year that let us keep Vernon home with us longer.

The family cannot express how caring and compassionate the staff at the Windsor Elms had been during his short stay there.

Arrangements for cremation have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., Windsor (902-798-8317). By request, there will be no visitation or funeral service. A private family burial will be held at a later date in Mount Denson Community Cemetery.
