Obituary of Joanne M. Kennedy

KENNEDY, Joanne Mary - 61, of Windsor, passed away Wednesday, March 7, 2012, in Hants Community Hospital, Windsor, after a two month fight with cancer. Born in Halifax, she was a daughter of the late Gordon and Helen Thomas.For many years Joanne was employed in various casual positions within Capital Health. At the time of her death she was employed as an administrative assistant at the IWK Health Centre, Halifax. Joanne was due to retire in June 2012 and was looking forward to spending more time at Avon Valley Golf Course.She is survived by husband, Neil; daughter, Erin, Windsor; sons, Andrew, Wolfville; Colin, Windsor; siblings, David (Gerry), Donald, Barb (Hugh) Yorke, Gerry and Susan.The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff of Hants Community Hospital and the Cancer Centre in Halifax. Special thanks to Joanne’s brother, David and sister-in-law, Gerry for their meaningful support and to her family physician, Dr. Catherine Robinson.Arrangements for cremation have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Homes & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., PO Box 981, Windsor (902-798-8317).
