There are no words to express how very sad I feel to hear that Dr. Kenny has passed away. I trained for a nurse at PMH in Windsor, and he was there throughout my training. He was The Handsome Doctor on the staff !!! We all loved him and he was always so kind and patient with us ( students !! )
I will always remember, years later, when Queen Elizabeth 11 came to Windsor, to officially Open the New-Hospital. Bill Parsons had a garden-party that afternoon. I was there with family and so was Dr. Kenny. Our laugh, that he and I shared, from that day on, was: when we heard the sirens and knew the motorcade was on it's way, with the Queen in-tow, Dr. Kenny crossed the street, camera in hand; I stayed on the front lawn with my movie camera. The cars passed so quickly, that all we got as pictures, were of each-other, taking pictures !! I have a movie of him, taking a picture of me :-) The two of us always had fun talking about that day.
He was a wonderful doctor and a true gentleman. He will be missed.
My sincere sympathy to all the family.
Yours truly, Saundra ( Smith ) Bain/Upper Falmouth

To: Dr. Kenny's family:
Dear Friends:
I was so sorry to hear of Dr. Kenny's passing.
I have known your Dad since 1964 when I started working in the Health Records Department at the old P.M.H.
After your dad's retirement our paths didn't cross that often until my mother moved to the Gladys Manning and had the apartment directly above his. Since that time I would see your dad often - especially when he attended our musical performances at the Gladys Manning and The Elms.
Dr. Kenny was a kind physician, a fine man and a true gentleman and will be greatly missed. I am so glad to have known him and will cherish my fond memories of him.
My husband, Peter, joins me in extending loving thoughts and sincere sympathy.

Uncle George was always laughing...that is what I remember. He stayed at my parent's home, with Aunt Mary, years ago, I was in my late teens. I used to make him breakfast and we would laugh and talk. All the other times I'd see him, he would always mention that I made the best breakfasts (how hard can that be!). I will miss him. My sincere condolences.

Dear Anna & Family: very saddened to read of your father's passing this morning! Dr. George brought me into the world in February 1959 and continued to be my doctor until 1978 when he retired from family practice! Mom, Dad and I adored his wonderful bedside manner but also his tremendous medical knowledge! He was one of the best! I also have fond memories of Dr. George together with his brother Bernard "Base" playing music at our house together with Dad, my Uncle Don and my Aunt Muriel until the wee hours of the morning! I recall the times Dad enjoyed with Bernard and Dr. George playing cards and horseshoes! Dr. George was able to live a long and fulfilling life! It is never easy parting with our loved ones! I extend deepest sympathies to you and your family! Loretta

My sincere condolences to the Kenny family on the loss of your Dad Dr.Kenny. I remember Mum taking the four of us to his office as small kids. He was always friendly and pleasant making me feel comfortable and never nervous to get on the table with the cold white sheet of paper. I was told he was caught off guard once when my brother Phillip punched him after getting his needles. Years later remember him coming to get gas in his blue and white Jeep always wearing his white hat... He was a kind and caring friend to all his patients....RIP Doctor Kenny.

Hello Sam, Anna, Richard and Carolyn,
I'm sad to hear that Dr. Kenny passed away. He was certainly a big part of growing up in Hantsport when we were kids. Dr. Kenny not only did house calls - he did "tent" calls too! Like the summer we were all camping on PEI and Robbie McKinnon and I both had pneumonia and Dr. Kenny visited us daily in our tents to administer needles into our derrieres. He told Mom it was the only way all the families could go on vacation at the same time! Growing up, "Dr. Kenny" meant "Doctor" - which is to say, he was what a doctor is. He was also a great friend of my father, and we'll always be grateful for his visits to Dad after Dad became frail and more or less housebound. Lots of good memories of all of you. Take care and see you soon.

Dear Family,
Your dad's name was one often heard in my home when growing up. Before his retirement, he was my childhood doctor. Long before that, he was a very influential caregiver to my mom, Audrey Sisco Briggs and her family, never being forgotten as the doctor who even delivered baby food for one of the younger siblings. He also cared for my mom's brother, Harold, who suffered greatly from asthma, and for my dad Tom (to whom the good doc gave allergy shots when he moved here from out west). Dr. Kenny earned well the title "doctor" with the compassion he extended to his community and will long be remembered as someone very special to us.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you all for peace and comfort in your loss.

Dear old Uncle George. He was a wonderful friend and uncle to Lynn and our family. He was a treasure to the kids. He was a friend to me as we shared stories about today, yesterday and tomorrow.
Uncle George was faithful and so very ready to meet his Lord. He missed all his family who had gone before him as family is and was most vitally important to him and his days. He cherished his own very much that he wanted to be with them and God. He was also fiercely proud of his children and many grandkids.
He prayed. He laughed. He even had a few nips of rum along the way whenever we could sneak him a drink.
We'll always treasure the moments he spent with Bert and Jim over any holiday as long as there was a good meal and a chair with his name on it. He was a kind and good soul to be in the presence of anytime.
Lynn, Aarika, Shannon and I will miss you Uncle George.

Anna and family:
I was sorry to hear that your Dad had left us. I so enjoyed him over the years I spent in the OR at Hants Community Hospital. His kindness was unmatched and his sense of humour got us through many a rough day. I always thought of your father as a man of peace, just as my Dad was. And he reminded me of my father with his Post WW Two attitude and approach to life. These men were not jaded like they could have been after such a horrible war.
Dr. Kenny was also always proud that he had been a nurse, and because of that we all connected to him on that nursing level, and made sure we did everything in our power to make his days with us good ones.
His laugh and his stories of being late because of 'the dang school bus!', were always good for a chuckle from us.
I fishtailed on my bicycle one time just down the hill from his house. (We were living in Falmouth at the time). The cut was deep and bled heavily. Your father looked up from his lawnmower duty as I approached and looked at my foot with great concern. Then he looked straight at me and asked "Do YOU think it needs to be stitched??"--I knew it was a test and told his a definite Yes. He forever laughed at that interaction of ours. Just wanted to share that with you. God Bless. May you remember him as your Dad who loved you all very much. He loved his kids and his grandkids and was proud of you all.
Love,
Bonnie Lowe

Dear Kenny family,
I wish to express my deepest sympathies on the passing or Dr.Kenny, Like many others Dr. Kenny was my family doctor from birth until his retirement. I remember my brother Tony was ill and it was in the middle of a winter storm and the Bishopville Road was not plowed so my Dad walked to town to the office to see Dr. Kenny. Dr. Kenny asked why my father did not bring my brother with him and he told him the road was not plowed and could not be driven. Dr. Kenny called the dept of highways and had the road plowed immediately and drove my Dad home to look at my brother. A doctor who cared deeply about all those under his care.
Unfortunately, I will not be able to attend the funeral but wish to express my condolences on his passing. Joan Newcomb
