Obituary of Erma Georgina Morehouse

MOREHOUSE, Erma Georgina Age 100, of Windsor, passed away Tuesday, October 18, 2016 in Dykeland Lodge, Windsor. Born on July 4, 1916 in Little River, Digby Co., she was the daughter of the late Omer and Irene (Brooks) Denton. After her marriage, she moved to Digby where she began raising her family prior to moving to Windsor in 1959. She was an active member of the Avon Valley Golf & Country Club, becoming an honorary member in her 80's and continuing to play until age 92. She bowled twice per week and maintained her position as team captain into her late 90's. She was also a member of Windsor Baptist Church. She leaves to mourn, her son Gary (Elaine), Windsor; and daughter, Carole, Windsor; granddaughter, Audra (Dan McNeil), Windsor; and great grandchildren, Jordan, Alberta; and Conor, Halifax; granddaughter, Stacy (Bradley Burgess); and great grandchildren, Hayden and Camdyn, Windsor; grandson, Sean Carrigan (Melanie), Lower Sackville; and great grandchildren, Emma, Zachary, Abby; grandson, Brad Carrigan (Karen), Sweets Corner; and great grandchildren, Rylan and Brayden. Georgina was predeceased by her husband of 59 years, Guy (1998). Special thanks to the staff of Dykeland Lodge for all their care and compassion. Arrangements have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., Windsor (902-798-8317), where visitation will be held from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, October 19. A funeral service, followed by a reception, will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, October 20 in DeMont Family Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Rob Heffernan officiating. Private family interment will follow in Maplewood Cemetery, Windsor. Donations in memory of Georgina may be made to a charity of one's choice.
