So sorry to hear about Roger. I was talking to him a few months ago as he had some plumbing done. As I don't live in White Rock anymore, he was telling me of the changes that had taken place.

I was saddened to hear of Roger's passing. He was my neighbor from the time I moved to White Rock when I was five years old and we went to school together right through to High School. Roger was a quiet person and never really one to stand out in the crowd, but he had a kind heart. I haven't seen Roger in a few years since moving to the Island, but was so saddened to see that things had to come to this. My thoughts and prayers go out to his remaining family.

Very sorry for your loss. I had the pleasure of working with Roger at the VRH. He was a hard worker, a gentleman and someone I'd consider a friend. He will be greatly missed.

To the Family of Roger Scott, I was very sad to hear last Sunday, of Roger's passing. I met Roger in Jr. High and we were friends all through High School. After High School our lives took different directions and because of that, it had been many years since I had seen him. Unfortunately, there is many in my High School class that fall into that category, but I just always figured that I would run into him again "some day". It is one thing not to see someone for 20+ years, but it is another thing completely to know that you are never going to see them ever again. Even though Roger was a bit shyer, quieter, and more introverted than most of us in school, everyone thought that he was a nice, decent, good guy, and I do not know of anyone who disliked him. In spite of that (from what I have heard), Roger did live a fairly solitary existence for the last number of years, and if someone does not want that kind of a life for themselves, that can "take its toll" after a while. I feel bad that he was not able to find a way to improve/change his situation on his own, or to reach out to others for help. I posted Roger's Obituary notice on my Facebook account, and also on a Facebook group called "Horton High Class of '88". Regardless of how many of our classmates were able to attend the funeral service, a lot of them were shocked and saddened to hear the news, and there were many complimentary things posted about him. I am sure he had a lot more friends than he was aware of, and would have been pleasantly surprised at the nice things that people said about him. Regrettably (due to my own situation/circumstances), I was unable to attend the funeral service, but he was definitely in my thoughts. Although I am not really religious, if there is such a thing as a heaven, I do believe that he deserves to be there, and I hope that he has found the happiness and love, that he was looking for here, and is once again with his parents, relatives, friends, and classmates, that went before him. He was a kind soul and I hope that he is now at peace. Sincerely, - Clevey Adams (Class President / HDHS Class of '88)
