Obituary of Richard Charles Harris
Please share a memory of Richard to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
With great sadness, we announce the passing of our father, Richard Charles Harris, age 67, on Wednesday, June 2, 2021, in Grand View Manor, Berwick. Born in Berwick, he was a lifelong resident of Morristown and was a son of the late Charles and Beulah (Keddy) Harris.
Richard enjoyed being at home, spending time with his children, grandsons, family and friends. When not at home, he could often be found at the Michelin Sports and Social Club or spending a Saturday evening at the lodge on Aylesford Road. In his younger years he enjoyed annual ATV and canoe trips and summers spent entertaining one and all around the backyard pool.
He was a two-time cancer survivor who beat the odds and went on to be a dedicated employee of Michelin Tire, Waterville for 35 years and served as a board member for the M.S.S.C. In addition, he spent many years working as a licensed Oil Burner Mechanic. He enjoyed playing cards, watching TV, western movies and was a collector of many “things”.
Richard is survived by son, Ryan (Sara); daughter, Jaime; grandsons, Ayden and JJ; brothers, Glendon, Brian (Linda) and Arthur; sister, Valerie (Robert) Wilson; many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by sisters, Barbara Joudrey, Linda Avery and Katherine Tupper, as well as sister-in-law, Diane Harris; brothers-in-law, Bill Avery and Fred Joudrey.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Grand View Manor, for their kind and loving care they provided to Richard. He greatly enjoyed the back and forth banter, crib games and friendships he made during his time in care and the family appreciates those moments he had with all of you.
