Adele Russell, Eva and family, We are very sorry for your loss. Your mom was a lovely person, and will also be remembered as a very good teacher. She was very caring and understanding of her students problems. Your parents will always be remembered with great respect, at Brooklyn District School. Mr. and Mrs. Russell were also very proud of their daughters and often spoke of you both, whenever we were chatting. We send our condolences to you all, and also to her sister, Joan Smith. .

49 years ago I attended Grade 6 which was a very good experiance learning from Miss Shortt at that time.. I was even blessed to meet her Mom and seen her prize pups as Miss Shortt had taken me to her Moms home in Newport landing where she also lived.. I wish to send my sincere condolences on the passing of your mom and sister. I was fortunate to have Miss Shortt, (as I knew her then) as my teacher in grade 5 at Crichton Park Elementary in Dartmouth ('71-72). She was a wonderful teacher and more. While I remember many things I recall her energy and creativity that she put into our art classes as well as our other subjects. We also new of her love for her dogs then too. More recently I was also fortunate to reacquaint with her about ten years ago and since then,when crossing paths at our local grocery store. It was always so nice to see her, to chat and catch up. She will be missed.

Family of the late Carolyn,
I am so sorry to hear of your families loss. I had the privilege of having Carolyn as my grade 6 teacher and she sure had a huge impact on my life. It was always nice seeing her out and about after completing school and always enjoyed our conversations.

I knew Carolyn and Sid for many years . She was a well loved client of Avon animal hospital. She had a real love for her dogs and always went the extra mile. I always looked forward to seeing her and chatting about life, dogs and family. She was a real sweet lady and will be missed by many

Dear Girls, it's been a bad year for you both and our sincere sympathy go out to you. I knew your Dad for 55 years and your mother since we attended their wedding. They were both wonderful people and welcoming friends. It is not only a great loss to you but to June and I as well. We visited at least once a year until the pandemic and shared many wonderful times and memories together. It is these memories that we will keep near and dear to our hearts, just as you will keep the many good times next to yours.
